What To Do In Vegas If You Are Not A Party-Goer

Las Vegas, Nevada...where night lights are seen in space.  The famous quote, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is the mantra of party-goers.

The Las Vegas Strip is known for its casinos, clubs, shopping, food and shows.  Las Vegas is the most popular in Nevada despite it being in the desert.  Take a long weekend and drive (or fly) to Nevada.

Make sure you fill up your tank before crossing the state. Gas prices near and in Las Vegas are quite ridiculous.

There are people who go to Las Vegas not for the party.  The Strip is full of beautiful structures and heavenly restaurants which is perfect however your personality is.

If you are not there to party when in Vegas, you have to:

Watch a show
Check all show schedules on Vegas.com. Before buying your tickets check the hotel's website for prices. It may be cheaper to directly buy from them.  The shows may run for only a period, not all shows have indefinite residencies.  For instance, Britney Spears may soon take a few months break from Planet Hollywood.

When in Vegas, we watched The Jabbawockeez and 50 Shades Parody.  Both were worth the walk to and from our hotel.

Feed Yourself
Go buffet style. If you enjoy your hotel so much, try checking the other hotels too. We stayed in a very nice hotel but we felt going to high-rated restaurants.

Right before you reach Las Vegas, there is a casino resort greeting you.  M Resort (Las Vegas Blvd in Henderson, NV) has by far the best buffet -- Studio B Buffet.  We went here in time for a seafood buffet. It was the best spent dollars on a food splurge.  Hello, crab legs and desserts.

We also tried the buffet in The Bellagio. It is an upscale restaurant that served prime cut meats in the carving station.. The food choices are fewer than that of Studio B.  But the crab legs were far meatier.

I am sure that other restaurants offer explosive culinary specials. It is a sin not to eat good food in Las Vegas.  You might also want to dine in celebrity-owned restaurants -- Wahlberg, Cake Boss' Buddy, chefs Ramsay, Giada, Flay and Puck.

There is also White Castle burger joint which was popularized by the movie Harold and Kumar.

The Fat Tuesday Bar has around 7 locations within the strip. They are famous for their frozen daiquiri.  Sold in different bottles. The Yard (1 yard-long drink) contains 48 oz of drink. You must be 21 to order

Adore the Bellagio fountain show

What a sight! The fountain dances with the music. The schedule --
  • Mon to Fri - every half hour from 3pm to 8pm, every 15 mins from 8pm to midnight.
  • Sat and holidays - every half hour from 12nn to 8pm, every 15 mins from 8pm to midnight

Visit The Venetian
Think Italy -- Venice to be precise. This hotel has a casino, restaurants, shops, museum, shows and man-made river for gondola rides.

Your eyes couldn't get enough of the art decors on the walls and ceiling.  The place is a replica of Baroque Italy.  The ceilings frescoes were actually hand-painted by Italian artists.

This hotel also recreated St. Mark's Square -- a cobble-stone road surrounded by restaurants.

Shop until you drop
Upscale shops are in Las Vegas. This city knows how to make your vacation an ultimate experience.  You will find shops on both sides if the strip. The shops are flashy and are open until midnight.  There are also mid-range shops where you can buy extra clothes or souvenirs for your trip.

Just walk the strip until you get tired
Yes. Walk. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared to take over a thousand steps to see the life in Las Vegas. Expect to ascend and descend stairs too.  While night time is for the bright lights, use the day time to scout for places to hang out.  It is equally to wall in day and night time.

Be camera ready because there are a lot of nice stuff you can capture and post on Instagram.  You might meet some characters in costume such as Thor and Hulk on the street.

Stop by and watch street performers, too.  It won't hurt to give a few bucks for your entertainment.

Create your experience and share it to those who are thinking of Las Vegas.

  1. Good tips - I've not been too interested in Vegas for exactly this reason - I'm not a big partier!
